Responsibilities include:

The Associate Director position is responsible and accountable for providing leadership in all aspects of the North Shore ESC operations. This role provides oversight and strategic direction of the North Shore ESC, the Employer Engagement, Job Development and Customized Employment portfolio across 3 YWCA ESCs, and other associated employment programs as required.

The Associate Director is critical in ensuring positive relationships with government, partner organizations, private and public sector organizations, special interest groups, community groups, clients and their support networks.

The Associate Director maintains broad external contacts at the senior level, for the purpose of setting the strategic direction for service delivery in employment programs and services for the North Shore, sustaining and improving employment services and in accordance with the YWCA and Provincial Government policies, priorities and legislation.

Reporting to the Vice President, Employment Services and working with other Associate Directors of Employment Services, this individual will also contribute to writing government proposals and developing strategic plans for Employment Services.

Resource Acquisition and Allocation
Proposal Writing and Creation of New Initiatives
Program and Service Delivery
Communications
Relationship Building with key stakeholders
Specific Tasks and Duties:
Accountable for effective service delivery at the North Shore ESC, consistent with the YWCA mandate and policy, legal, contractual, budgetary and other requirements
Leads, coaches and motivates staff to attain program objectives, ensure effective case planning and management, and to retain engaged employees
Participates as part of the Employment Services Leadership team to develop long range plans, resolve operational and financial issues and policies,
Participates with a team to write funding proposals for new programs
Develops and monitors large financial budgets while analyzing and observing trends and variances to the budget and proposes constructive solutions and ideas.
Builds and maintains effective relationships with government officials, community leaders, partner organizations and hiring companies with the ability to articulate the organization's priorities, needs, reputation and impact on the community.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Masters or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role
Demonstrated competence in program management, employee management, financial management and budgeting
Proven ability to write funded proposals, and create new programs to augment services for clients.
Demonstrated ability to connect with employers, at the local, provincial and national level.
Experience working with all levels of government
Ability to work in a high paced environment, with multiple, often conflicting priorities
Ability to think creatively and strategically.
Comfortable with change and able to lead the team through changes
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to remain calm and collaborative even under difficult situations
Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written, with the ability to absorb and explain complex information to multiple stakeholders
A knowledge of ICM and CFMS eligibility requirements, employment program policy as well as working within a WorkBC model of service delivery is an asset
Knowledge of the North Shore community and service providers is an asset
Experience working with employers from a variety of sectors
Criminal Records check clear in vulnerable sector
Use of own vehicle and willingness to travel throughout Metro Vancouver.
